Evans hit with FA charge
Steve Evans has been charged by the FA over his recent conduct at Grimsby Town.
The Football Association have charged Boston United manager Steve Evans over his conduct during the recent 1-0 defeat at Grimsby Town.
Evans was forced to miss much of the second half after being made to sit on the team bus having been ushered out of the ground by Humberside Police.
The Scot claimed that Mariners goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall had handled outside his area, and his rant at the fourth official was immediately brought to the attention of the local constabulary.
Grimsby safety officer Terry Rudrum explained the incident, telling the Echo: "Mr Evans was warned by the fourth official several times in the first half about his foul and abusive language.
"There were one or two complaints from the crowd and he was strongly warned about his behaviour by the referee at half time.
"After his reaction to the incident in the second half, the decision was taken to ask Mr Evans to leave."
Evans has until March 9 to lodge an appeal against the charge of using abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official.
