Alan Stubbs maintains the gap between Celtic and the rest is vast

Celtic head into Christmas 14 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership - and that lead could grow even more when they face Rangers on New Year's Eve - live on Sky Sports.
Former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs believes there is a huge gulf between them and the rest of the league and has sympathy for Rangers manager Mark Warburton.
He told Sky Sports News HQ: "The (points) gap doesn't surprise me because I think Celtic are that far ahead of everybody now and it's a big challenge for everybody else to try and close that gap.
"At this moment in time, it really is a matter of how many they win it by and that's not being disrespectful. The New Year's game will be a fantastic occasion but Celtic just have too much quality for everybody in the league.
"The problem for Rangers is that the expectations of the fans are so high and Mark Warburton has had to deal with that. A lot of the fans demand they are closer to Celtic than they are at this moment in time but that is not realistic.
"They are not close to Celtic financially. In a one-off game anything can happen, but if we look at the two games so far, Celtic won the league game easily 5-1 and while Rangers were much more competitive in the League Cup match, Celtic still came out on top."
You can see Rangers v Celtic live on Sky Sports 1 HD and 5 HD on New Year's Eve from 11.30.
