Defender expects to sign new one-year contract

Rangers defender Christian Dailly has revealed that he is likely to sign a new one-year deal with the club. The 34-year-old moved to Ibrox from West Ham in the January transfer window on a short-term contract until the end of the season. He helped Rangers win the CIS Insurance Cup and Scottish Cup and also played his part as Walter Smith's side reached the final of the Uefa Cup. Dailly has yet to sign an extension but he is keen to stay and has discussed his future with Smith. "I have spoken to the manager already and we have more or less agreed to do it again next season," he said. "I haven't spoken to the chief executive (Martin Bain) or anything like that and I haven't signed anything but in principle there is a good chance of me signing again for next season."
