Midfielder signs on until January
Hearts midfielder Rudi Skacel has signed a six-month extension to his contract at Tynecastle.
The 32-year-old is enjoying his second spell with the Edinburgh club, having played there during the 2005/2006 season, helping the side to the 2006 League Cup in the process.
The former Czech Republic international left for Southampton in a £1.6million deal in 2006 and had spells at Hertha Berlin, Sparta Prague and Larissa before re-joining the Jambos last September, initially on a one-year deal.
The move proved a successful one as Skacel ended the season as the club's top scorer with 13 goals.
His decision to extend his stay at the club is a boost to new boss Paulo Sergio, who replaced Jim Jefferies earlier this week.
Sergio's first match is a Europa League qualifying tie at home to Paks on Thursday night, with Skacel expected to take his place in the starting line-up.
