Scottish Premiership: Tommy Wright pleased with Partick point

St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright was pleased to see his side's wretched run of form end with a 0-0 draw against Partick Thistle.
The Perth side came into the match on the back of five straight league defeats, but they averted a sixth straight loss and restored some confidence before visiting Ibrox on Tuesday night for a League Cup quarter-final against Rangers.
"It's a good point, particularly in the run that we've been on," said Wright. "The conditions were difficult, there was a lot of wind which didn't help the game, but overall we're pleased with it.
"I think we had the more clear-cut opportunities in the second half and we could have possibly sneaked all three points, but from where we are at the minute, I'm really pleased with the performance.
"We limited them to very few opportunities from open play so away from home you've got to be delighted with that, it's a start and we've got to build on it.
"Now we've got this one out of the way we can go on to Tuesday and the pressure is all on Rangers.
"We'll go there and hopefully put on another good performance. Away from home we've probably been that wee bit better this season, whereas last season up until Christmas or January our away record was really poor, so maybe it's a good thing the tie's at Ibrox."
Partick boss Alan Archibald was left to lament his side's wasteful play in front of goal although he was also happy enough to take a point.
"We had a wee spell in the first half when Dools (Kris Doolan) has had a good chance when the ball was whipped across," Archibald said. "But it was a bit flat I thought from us today. It's a good point and a good clean sheet.
"I don't know if the conditions made it not great to watch, but I just thought we could have done a wee bit more in the final third.
"We had plenty of possession, we just missed that wee cutting edge. Credit to St Johnstone, they're a hard team to play against and they're a good defensive unit.
"I just thought from our point of view as the home side we could have done a wee bit more."
