Celtic's Sky Live match with Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Sunday will go ahead as planned after an early morning pitch inspection at the Caledonian Stadium.

Ronny Deila's side have endured a frustrating week, being held to a goalless draw by Kilmarnock last weekend, before a 2-1 defeat to Ajax at Parkhead in midweek ended their hopes of European football after Christmas.

The Hoops remain top of the Scottish Premiership - six points clear of Hearts ahead of Saturday's fixtures - while Inverness have 17 points from their 15 fixtures to sit eighth after last week's defeat to Partick Thistle.

Heavy rain had put the match in doubt, but Inverness confirmed the game would go ahead after inspecting conditions at 7.30am.

A brief statement read: "Following a 7:30am inspection, the referee has passed the pitch as playable, so the game is ON.
