Moussa Dembele will get some game time against Olimpija Ljuanblja on Wednesday as Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers prepares for the first Champions League qualifier.

Rodgers is expected to field a strong side in the friendly match against the champions of Slovenia with the club's first Champions League qualifier against Flora Tallinn or Lincoln Red Imps just over a week away.

Rodgers has selected the majority of his players for 45 minutes at a time in the two previous friendlies against NK Celje and Sturm Graz.

Nadir Ciftci and Tom Rogic were on target as Rodgers watched his side rally from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with Celje, while a Ryan Christie strike was enough for a sharper looking Celtic to beat Graz.

But the Hoops manager hopes to have a settled line up in place on Wednesday, and new striker Dembele will see some action although Rodgers is planning to ease the former Fulham favourite into action.

"Moussa will feature. He has only just linked up with us and you have to give him a few days, otherwise there is a high risk of injury. He'll play a part," Rodgers said.

Meanwhile, Rodgers has indicated there is unlikely to be any quick decision over the future of midfielder Kris Commons.

The 33-year-old, who is recovering from a back injury and is expected to start training next week, has been linked with a loan move to Hibernian.

Commons still has one year remaining on his contract at Celtic, and Rodgers has indicated he would like to see if the player can fit into his plans.

The former Liverpool boss said: "At the minute Kris is injured. For Kris or any player they have to be able to play how I want to work.

"They have to be able to run. They have to be able to press. They have to be aggressive. They have to be able to touch and to get up to people. Celtic are used to having the ball of course but you have to get the ball back.

"The possibility is open to every player. But right now Kris is just worrying about getting fit. And then we will see where he is at."
