Celtic skipper Scott Brown believes there is still a lot of work to be done to secure a place in this season's Champions League group stage.

Brown was on target with the final, and what may prove to be a decisive, goal in the 5-2 first-leg playoff victory against Hapoel Be'er Sheva at Celtic Park last Wednesday.

On a topsy-turvy night in Glasgow, Leigh Griffiths hit a brace following an early strike from Tom Rogic, but two goals in as many minutes by Lucio Maranhao and Maor Melikson put the visitors back into the tie before substitute Moussa Dembele and Brown restored the three-goal advantage.

The Hoops face the Israeli side in the return on Tuesday night at the Turner Stadium and Brown is taking nothing for granted.

"You never know what can happen in football," the 31-year-old said.

"We need to focus on ourselves more than anything and if we do our job properly we will see what happens. We are looking forward to it.

"It was a great game at Celtic Park, the first half was exceptional. The previous two seasons we may have been happy with 3-2 but went on and scored a couple more.
