Leigh Griffiths expects Rangers’ defenders to be having sleepless nights worrying about Celtic’s attacking threats ahead of Saturday’s Old Firm derby at Ibrox.
The Hoops sit top of the Scottish Premiership table on 16 points while Rangers are third, five points off the leaders, as both sides prepare for their first derby of the season, live on Sky Sports Football.
Pedro Caixinha has warned Alfredo Morelos Celtic will be out to provoke him, something Brendan Rodgers denies, but Griffiths says it is the other end of the pitch Rangers need to be worried about.
When asked about Morelos, Griffiths told Sky Sports News: "He has started off the season well. He is scoring a few goals and he looks a handful.
"Our centre-halves will need to be on top form to keep him quiet.
"But you know, going the other way, we have got players who can hurt their defence as well so I am sure their centre-halves will be having sleepless nights and the likes of me, Moussa [Dembele], Patrick [Roberts] and Scotty [Sinclair] or whoever else plays up front on Saturday."
Rodgers has a wealth of attacking talent to choose from following the return of Moussa Dembele from a hamstring injury against Ross County.
Dembele scored in the 4-0 victory as he started up front alongside Griffiths but James Forrest, Roberts and Sinclair will also be vying for a starting berth at Ibrox.
Griffiths hopes Rodgers elects to pair him with Dembele once again.
"We did well last week against Ross County," Griffiths said. "The big man was just back from injury so maybe his fitness tailed a bit in the latter stages when he came off.
"But he has been working on his fitness over the course of the week and he will be back in the squad for Saturday. Hopefully we can strike up another partnership."
