Brendan Rodgers believes Moses Odubajo is a player with huge talent who has been unlucky with injuries

Brendan Rodgers says Celtic are interested in signing Moses Odubajo, but talks remain at an early stage.

The Hull City full-back has joined Celtic on their training camp in Austria, with Rodgers believing the exciting 24-year-old has been unfortunate with injuries over the past two seasons.

"He is not training with the club," Rodgers said when asked about Odubajo's presence at Celtic's training camp.

"We had permission from Hull. He is a player that interests us. Of course he has been out injured for a long period of time.

"Just at this moment there is nothing concrete. We have invited him over to have a conversation and we will take it from there."

Odubajo joined Hull from Brentford in 2015 and helped the Tigers win promotion to the Premier League, but his last two seasons have been ruined by serious knee injuries.

"In terms of his profile, Moses, when he is fit, is a really dynamic full-back who gets forward. He is very aggressive," Rodgers said.

"I had seen him as a young player at Leyton Orient and then coming through the England system and through into Hull, where he had a great season in the Championship

"It was unfortunate in that season for him in that season where they get to the Premier League, he suffers the injuries so it has been difficult for him.

"So myself and his agent and the club have had a conversation. We will look to progress that and wait see what happens over the course of the next week."

Celtic have only made one signing this summer, breaking their transfer record to acquire Odsonne Edouard from Paris Saint-Germain, but Rodgers remains relaxed about the club's recruitment efforts: "We have work to do. We need to strengthen, there is no doubt, but I am sure the club will organise that over the course of the next number of weeks."
