Bhoys new-boy delighted at SPL switch

Striker Gary Hooper has labelled Celtic a 'massive' club after sealing his move from Scunthorpe United. The 22-year-old leaves the Championship for the SPL and will get an early taste of European action on Wednesday night. Hooper is available for Celtic's UEFA Champions League qualifier against Braga, his first trip abroad for a match. A number of clubs were chasing the former Southend man but he was only ever interested in joining the Scottish giants. Hooper is delighted to have signed on the dotted line and is now excited at the prospect of making his Bhoys debut.

Massive club

"I'm a little bit nervous, it's the first time I've travelled abroad for a game," he said on Sky Sports News. "But I am looking forward to it and ready to meet my team-mates. "Celtic is a massive club and when I knew they were interested they were the only club I wanted to come to. "It's a massive step up. I didn't think I'd be playing in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Let's hope I play. "I'm just looking forward to get training and playing. "I signed yesterday and had a medical last night which finished about eight o'clock. "I had to sign a few papers this morning and fax them but that's it done."
