Striker unhappy with quit rumours
Anthony Stokes insists he would be happy to remain at Celtic for the rest of his career after speculation linking him with a move.
The striker's father and agent claimed the player was looking to leave Celtic and was ready to hand in a transfer request after being left on the bench for last weekend's Co-operative Insurance Cup final defeat to Rangers.
Former Hibernian ace Stoke refuted the claims and he now says he would be content to end his career at Celtic.
Stokes insists he will stay and fight for his place in Neil Lennon's starting XI.
"I'm disappointed about what's happened. I don't want people to think I want to leave Celtic," Stokes told the
Scottish Sun.
"I'll fight for my place, that's what football is all about. I'm completely focused on playing for Celtic.
"If it was up to me I'd be here for the rest of my career.
"I'm totally committed. I've got a long time left on my contract. Leaving isn't even in the equation."
