Bhoys could be ready to hand midfielder new deal
Celtic star Victor Wanyama insists he is happy at the club, despite being strongly linked with a summer move to England.
A host of Premier League clubs were trailing the 21-year-old midfielder, but a move never materialised.
Wanyama had suggested he could move, which angered manager Neil Lennon, but he remains a hugely important figure and has again proved that so far this term.
Now Celtic are believed to be keen on handing the 21- year-old a new deal.
"I leave these things for the club and my agent but I'm really happy here and looking forward to staying for as many years as I can," he told
the Daily Record.
"All I do is concentrate on the football.
"Celtic is a big club and we are in the Champions League so I don't think there is anywhere better.
"Playing in Europe is a bonus for us and it is easier to be seen all around the world because they are watching the Champions League.
"You cannot get a greater atmosphere than here at Celtic so it's perfect.
"Before the Benfica game was unreal. Standing in front of a 60,000 crowd and knowing it was live on television was great.
"The excitement gives you more energy to keep on going."
