Spaniard believes Rangers will play for draw
Barcelona's Xavi has told
skysports.com that the UEFA Champions League clash against Rangers will be a tough test, but believes his side can overcome the tough Scots.
Walter Smith's Rangers battled hard for a 0-0 draw against Barca at Ibrox last time round.
The Gers travel to Camp Nou on Wednesday in match day four of Group E, and Xavi feels that Smith's men will go into the game looking for a draw.
However, he believes that if the home side can net early on then Rangers will be forced to come out and play.
"Rangers are not an easy opponent for any team in Europe, Xavi told
skysports.com.
"The match could cause us problems because a point will be excellent for the Scottish, and I do not believe they will attack.
"The key would be for us to score an early goal. If we do that then Rangers will need to change their plans.
"The game in Glasgow was a rare match. Rangers wanted the 0-0 and we were not successful, but now in Barcelona I am convinced the outcome will be different."
