Rangers defender eager to stay at Ibrox
Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot is eager to agree a new contract with the Scottish champions.
Full-back Broadfoot is one of six players whose existing deals with the cash-strapped Glasgow giants are due to expire this summer.
Talks between the 25-year-old Scotland international and the club had reached an impasse, but he hopes discussions between his agent and chief executive Martin Bain could prove fruitful.
He told the
Daily Express: "I have made it clear from day one that my preferred choice would be to stay at Rangers. It was a dream come true the day I signed for this club.
"I am a Rangers fan and it is a dream come true every time I pull on that light blue shirt.
"I loved every day of my last three years at Ibrox and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed I can be here for a few more years to come.
"The club are still talking to my agent and we will wait and see what comes out of it.
"We haven't been able to agree anything as yet but we will see what happens over the next week or so.
"Hopefully we can get something agreed. I have other options but I have told my agent that my number one priority is Rangers and if I can't agree a new deal then I will look at what else is on the table."
