Arveladze hoping to sign striker for Kayserispor
Shota Arveladze has declared that he would like to bring Rangers striker Kris Boyd to Kayserispor.
Arveladze, who spent three years at Ibrox as a player, has just begun his managerial career with the Turkish club after a spell as assistant at Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.
He has already identified his main transfer targets and is setting his sights on Boyd, who recently admitted the prospect of playing abroad was 'appealing'.
Boyd's contract with Rangers expires this summer and Birmingham's ex-Ibrox boss Alex McLeish is among those keeping tabs on the situation.
Kayserispor are reportedly ready to offer Boyd a lucrative two-year deal, with Arveladze hopeful a move could go ahead.
"I want to bring Boyd to my team," the former Georgia international told
The Mail on Sunday.
"But it depends what he wants to do himself and I don't know the answer to that.
Consider
"I know that we can offer him good money.
"We don't have a deadline but it would be good to know that it would be something Kris would at least consider."
Arveladze believes Boyd could be tempted to embark on a new challenge with him in Turkey.
"I hope he will be open to talks," he said.
"I would like to speak to him at some stage personally.
"I can tell him that I am the coach and I want him to come, tell him the way I'm thinking about the team playing and that type of thing."
