Gers defender hoping to pen new long-term Rangers contract
Rangers defender Steven Whittaker insists he would be happy extending his Ibrox stay if fresh terms were forthcoming.
The 26-year-old still has one year left in his contract, although he has no plans to seek out a fresh challenge anytime soon.
Whittaker is happy with his form and due to his strong affinity for the club he is keen to sign a new long-term deal.
Gers are closing in on a third successive title and Whittaker is keen to stay and help the Light Blues continue to be successful.
Happy
"First and foremost, I'm happy at the club and have loved the last few seasons," said Whittaker.
"I feel like I have done well and come into my own. I'm comfortable playing and enjoying my football.
"I've got a year on my deal to run and what happens will happen. If the club want to come and talk, things like that can happen. But I'm happy here and still have another year left.
"There is nothing better than winning trophies and being successful and we have done that since Walter came back to the club.
"I've enjoyed every minute of it and hopefully that can continue over the next couple of seasons as well."
