Defender joins Scottish champions on three-year deal
Rangers have sealed the capture of Dorin Goian from Palermo on a three-year contract subject to international clearance and a work permit.
As reported earlier, the Scottish champions had confirmed they have agreed a fee with the Italian outfit for the Romanian defender.
Terms have now been finalised and the 30-year-old passed a medical in Glasgow on Monday.
While Rangers boss Ally McCoist has added the Romanian to his squad in time for Monday night's UEFA Champions League signing deadline, the club say it is unlikely he will feature in Tuesday's qualifier against Malmo at Ibrox.
Very experienced
Welcoming the signing, McCoist told
Sky Sports News: "He's a very experienced centre-half, strong, aggressive, tall and it's definitely something we need.
"We have been a little bit short defensively for cover and he will certainly be a welcome addition to the team and the squad.
"I think what you see is what you get - like I say, he's a strong aggressive defender who'll attack the ball and win his challenges."
