Rangers assistant boss Kenny McDowall has admitted the club fear losing some of their top stars in January.

Transfer window is a concern for Gers

Rangers assistant boss Kenny McDowall has admitted the club fear losing some of their top stars when the transfer window reopens in January. The likes of Nikica Jelavic, Steven Davis and Allan McGregor all have their suitors in England and Rangers could face a fight to keep hold of them in the New Year. Jelavic was the subject of a failed bid from Leicester before the close of the last transfer window and it is feared the cash-strapped Ibrox outfit would struggle to refuse any big-money offers for their best players. McDowall admits the transfer window reopening in January is a concern for the management team in case they see some of their top performers sold on. "Losing key players is obviously one of the concerns we've got come January," McDowall told the Daily Record. "It's a worry but we can't do anything except deal with it as it comes along in January. "We'll need to see what happens in the transfer window. We can't do anything about it and if it happens we'll just need to get on with it."
