Emilson Cribari says that Rangers' history in his native Brazil was a major influence on his move to Scotland.
The 32-year-old signed a two-year deal earlier on Tuesday with Ally McCoist's side, and becomes one of three new signings in the day for the Ibrox outfit.
The centre-back arrived in Scotland to train with the Gers squad and has impressed enough to earn himself a contract with the Third Division side.
Cribari, who has spent most of his career in Italy with spells with Lazio and Udinese, said that a move to Scotland was too good of an opportunity to turn down.
"The club is famous in my country because it has such a strong history so it was an easy decision for me to make when I had the chance to sign." Cribari told the club's
official website.
"I am very happy to be here, I got a good impression when I spoke with the manager and the stadium and the training facilities are excellent."
Unlike fellow new signing Francisco Sandaza, Emilson will not be available for selection on Tuesday evening but should be back fit within two weeks.
He said: "I have been training in Brazil on my own and with a personal coach so I am fit and ready to play.
"I need seven to 10 days of training with the team to make sure I am at full strength but I am ready to play and I am delighted to be here."
