Scottish Championship: Ally McCoist still 'committed' despite Rangers resignation reports

Ally McCoist insists he remains "100 per cent" committed to Rangers, despite Sky Sports News HQ's understanding that he has offered to resign.
McCoist was in the dugout for Friday's 2-0 defeat at Queen of the South - one that keeps Rangers nine points behind Scottish Championship leaders Hearts.
There has been no response from the club to reports that McCoist had earlier tendered his resignation, though former Ibrox team-mate Andy Goram claimed McCoist planned to work the notice on his contract - reported to be a 12-month rolling deal - unless told otherwise.
Rangers would need to pay McCoist in the region of £400,000 to pay off his contract in full if they decided not to wait a year to make a managerial change, although they may look to come to an agreement that would see them pay a smaller termination fee.
McCoist was disappointed by defeat at Palmerston Park but would not comment when asked about his own future, which has been in question for some weeks.
Speaking to SSNHQ's Charles Paterson, McCoist - who faced the wrath of some supporters after a recent defeat to part-timers Alloa in the Petrofac Training Cup - said: "I can't comment at all on speculation.
"What I can tell you is I am the Rangers manager and I'm very, very disappointed in a very disappointing performance from my team against a Queen of the South side that thoroughly deserved their victory.
"In terms of commenting on speculation, I can't do that. But I am the Rangers manager and a very disappointed one at that.
"I fully expect to be Rangers manager, hopefully for some time. My job is to get this club back to the top flight of Scottish football and that has not changed.
"We'll be back at Murray Park tomorrow to do our work. I would imagine it won't be a happy training ground but we've got to do our work, recover and prepare."
Asked whether the day's news had affected his side's performance, he added: "I'm not sure. I'm certainly not going to put that out as an excuse. Not at all.
"It's my job to put a team on the park that can perform and get results - tonight they did not do that. They got what they deserved tonight. We all did."
Goram earlier told Sky Sports News HQ: "Ally's still our manager - he's handed in his notice until the end of the season or his contract, so it's no susprise he's going down to Palmerston.
"If Rangers want to sever the contract now and take the consequence of paying him off that's up to them. It will be interesting to see what they come out with, but when you hand in your notice you intend to see your contract out, and that will take us to the end of the season and hopefully to another promotion.
"If Ally McCoist was walking away he wouldn't be there now. He'd have walked away right now. That's my understanding, that's what I've been told."
