Finland U19 international Miko Virtanen has signed for Aberdeen after a successful trial.
The 18-year-old, who featured in last week's 3-1 win over Hearts in the SPFL Development League, will join up with Paul Sheerin's U20 squad.
Virtanen, who spent two years in the Everton academy before leaving in the summer, has signed a contract until the end of the season.
The midfielder told the Aberdeen website: "Mixu Paatelainen was the Finland national team manager for a few years and I know he used to play here. People have also told me about Markus Heikkinen (the Finnish midfielder who played for the Dons between 2003 and 2005).
"When I heard I was coming up here I went and read up on the history of Aberdeen and I realised very quickly how big and successful a club it was. So I was very excited to come here.
"I have a deal until the end of the season which gives me time to prove myself to Paul and the rest of the staff. The aim is to work hard and impress everyone as I go along."
