Aberdeen starlet Paul Marshall fears the state of the Pittodrie pitch is affecting his chances of winning a new deal.
The former Manchester City youngster signed a six-month deal in January but his ability to shine has been limited.
The poor state of the Pittodrie playing surface has done little to help things and Marshall fears their adopted style of play is unhelpful.
Marshall is desperate to impress manager Mark McGhee between now and the summer in order to win a fresh long-term deal.

"The pitch is very poor," explained Marshall. "It's having an effect throughout the team.
"When the ball is bouncing about all defenders can do is clear it long as they cannot take any risks.
"That's frustrating for me in midfield but I understand why it is necessary.
"A new contract depends on how I perform between now and the end of the season. I am still trying to get used to playing out wide on the left.
"I need to force my way into the middle then show what I can do."
