Celtic's trip to Inverness will be the first Sky Sports live HD match of the new Scottish Premier League season.

Celtic's trip to newly-promoted Inverness Caledonian Thistle will be the first Sky Sports live HD match of the new Clydesdale Bank Premier League season. The match at the Caledonian Stadium, which kicks-off at 12.15pm, Saturday August 14 on Sky Sports HD4, will be the first of 30 live Scottish Premier League games to be shown in HD on Sky Sports this season. In consultation with the SPL and the clubs, Sky Sports has announced 10 live matches featuring 10 different clubs over the first four months of the season. Further live matches will be announced as they are confirmed. Click here for the full list of live fixtures Other highlights confirmed include: Hibernian v Rangers - The SPL champions travel to Easter Road on Sunday August 22 (k/o 12.15pm). Celtic v Rangers - The first Old Firm derby of the season, from Celtic Park on Sunday October 24 (k/o 12noon). Hibernian v Hearts - The first Edinburgh derby of the season from Easter Road on Saturday November 7 (k/o 2.15pm). Barney Francis, Sky Sports Managing Director said: "We begin the season with an intriguing challenge for both Terry Butcher's promoted side and Celtic. Our opening fixtures also include the first of four Old Firm derbies available in high definition this season and also the first Edinburgh derby of the season." This season Sky Sports will show more live football than ever before. Aside from the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, the line-up of live matches includes 115 live games from the Barclays Premier League, more than 100 games from the UEFA Champions League, live matches from the npower Football League, Carling Cup, Scottish Cup, Northern Ireland's Carling Premiership, Spain's La Liga and all Scotland's home Euro 2012 qualifiers, beginning with Liechtenstein at Hampden Park on Tuesday September 7. The live coverage is supported by a range of football shows, covering every day of the week, including Soccer AM, Gillette Soccer Saturday, Goals on Sunday and Sunday Supplement. Sky Sports News also features regular reports and match features on the SPL and will be broadcast in HD from late August, to provide a greater depth of sports news including breaking stories, results and interviews in the best picture quality, 24 hours a day.
