Former Hull boss Phil Brown has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant manager's job at Aberdeen.
Aberdeen are currently looking for a new man at the helm after Mark McGhee's departure last week following a disappointing campaign.
A number of names, including John Hughes, Billy Stark and Gus MacPherson, have been linked with the role and now Brown has expressed his interest in the vacancy at Pittodrie.
Brown has been out of work since leaving Hull last March and he is keen to get back into management at Aberdeen.
"I would certainly be interested in the position as it is a great opportunity for somebody," Brown told
The Herald.
"I am happy to make it public knowledge that I would be happy to speak to them. In the last six or seven months I have been studying Scottish football, as well as that in other countries, from afar.
"I have been doing a lot of travelling, having a look at different coaching methods in different countries, enjoying my time off.
"Now I am keen to get back involved in football. Dean Windass, who played for me at Hull, spoke very highly of his time at Aberdeen.
"He liked the people up there and felt the club was run very professionally. As far as he was concerned, it is a sleeping giant."
