Aberdeen boss Craig Brown will have to wait until the summer to try to sign Stefan Gislason.
Brondby failed to cancel midfielder's contract in time
Aberdeen boss Craig Brown may try to sign Stefan Gislason in the summer after being prevented from completing a deal for the Iceland midfielder.
Brown was hoping to bring in Gislason on a contract until the end of the season after the player was released by Brondby.
However, the Danish side did not finalise the paperwork before the close of the January transfer window, meaning the Dons will have to wait to add Gislason to their squad.
"We had intended bringing him over to have a look and sign him until the end of the season," said Brown in the
Daily Record.
Devastated
"Everything was fixed, but when we checked the paperwork we found Brondby hadn't cancelled his contract in time.
"This should have been done by the end of January, but they left it until February 4 so we had to call the deal off.
"His agent was devastated and we are disappointed because he'd have been a good addition.
"I have seen him play with Iceland and he is an elegant, creative midfielder who has a good stature and presence about him. We may consider a move for him for next season."
