Charlton Athletic striker Tony Watt is in talks with Hearts over a season-long loan, Sky Sources understand.

The 22-year-old began his career at Celtic, scoring eight goals in 34 appearances for the Hoops, most notably the winner in a Champions League group match against Barcelona in November 2012.

However, he failed to secure a regular first-team spot at Parkhead and was loaned to Belgian side Lierse the following year. In July 2014 he joined Standard Liege before moving on to Charlton in January 2015.

Watt, who has been capped once at senior level by Scotland, had loan spells with Cardiff and Blackburn last season and a deal to take him to Tynecastle looks set to be completed later this week.
