Jefferies keen to run an eye over Icelandic defender

Iceland international defender Kari Arnason has joined Hearts for their week-long training camp in Italy. The centre-back is a free agent after leaving Plymouth Argyle in the summer and boss Jim Jefferies was looking forward to running the rule over the stopper during the stay in Tuscany. The 28-year-old joined Argyle in 2009 from Danish club AGF Aarhus and made 72 appearances for the Pilgrims, scoring three goals. Jefferies said: "Eggert Jonsson knows him and he comes well recommended by the likes of John Blackley. "The owner has been good enough to allow us to bring him over and we'll have a close look at him over the next seven days. "His situation with Plymouth means he is available as a free agent so it's worth having a look."
