Kilmarnock have signed Burnley right-back Luke Hendrie on loan until January.

The 21-year-old former England youth international will go straight in to Killie boss Lee Clark's squad for Saturday's trip to Ross County.

Hendrie, who is the son of former Bradford and Middlesbrough forward John Hendrie, has previously had loan stints with Hartlepool and York City.

He made 18 appearances for the Minstermen last season but could not prevent them finishing bottom of Sky Bet League Two.

Clark said: "Luke is an out-and-out right-back. We felt that with Greg Taylor being a young player, it would be hard enough coming into the first team without having to play a different position that he does normally.

"He's done a sterling job but we felt we needed a specialist in there. Luke has had periods out on loan at York and at Hartlepool. He comes from good stock, I know his father (former Newcastle and Middlesbrough winger John
Hendrie) very well. We think he can give us something a bit different."
