Paatelainen favourite to succeed Baxter at the helm
The Finland FA has called a Thursday press conference where they are expected to name Stuart Baxter's successor.
Finland have been without a head coach since Englishman Baxter's exit last November.
The nation have been guided by interim bosses Olli Huttunen and Markku Kanerva, although neither of the pair are thought to be under long-term consideration.
Finland president Kimmo J. Lipponen commented: "On Thursday everything will be clear. Let the stress be still until Thursday."
Lipponen has refused to confirm the name of the new man or whether he is Finnish or an appointment from abroad.
Kilmarnock boss Mixu Paatelainen is the favourite for the role and the SPL club are understood to be planning their own press conference for Thursday.
