Well boss hopes loan striker can make positive impact

Craig Brown hopes Nick Blackman can replicate Lukas Jutkiewicz's impact at Motherwell after the Blackburn Rovers striker joined on loan. Jutkiewicz scored 12 goals in the SPL for Motherwell last season during a loan spell from Everton and has now moved on to Coventry City. Well boss Brown has turned to Blackman to fill the void and is optimistic the 20-year-old can make a big impact at Fir Park over the next six months. "Blackman is tall and he's good in the air," Brown told the club's official website. "He's got pace to burn, a good left foot. "He has really blossomed in pre-season. My friend, who is the first-team coach at Blackburn, Steve Kean, said he would definitely score goals in the SPL. "He's a very, very exciting young striker. He is quick and lively and his movement is good. "We had a good lift from Lukas Jutkiewicz last season and we consider Blackman is as good a player and is going to be as productive for us as Jutkiewicz was and, if that's the case, we'll be well pleased."
