Injury worries for Baup
Toulouse are crossing their fingers Johan Elmander will be fit to face Liverpool on 15th August. The sides meet in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League with a place in the lucrative group stages at stake.
Toulouse's star forward picked up a thigh injury on the opening weekend of the Ligue 1 season, adding to the side's overcrowded treatment room.
"Reality has already set in," Toulouse coach Elie Baup told L'Equipe. "August has already been a headache.
"The whole group has not showed collective strength yet. So we must do some serious thinking.
"We replaced Elmander as we didn't want to take a risk. There's nothing we can do with that kind of injury.
"We can only wait and see how it improves in the space of a week."
Debut disappointment
Meanwhile, defender Jon Joensson was bitterly disappointed with his debut showing in Toulouse's 3-1 loss to Valenciennes."It was tough. It's not how you want your first match to finish," he told Sportbladet.
"We are playing man-to-man, but I'm learning everyday and things will get better."
