Striker wants to return to England but no offers as yet
Time appears to be running out for Marseille striker Djibril Cisse to seal a switch back to the Premier League.
The former Liverpool player wants a return to the English top flight as his wife still lives in England.
But Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has revealed that there are no offers for the 26-year-old.
He has warned that the door will be closed to Cisse if he does not find a club soon, with reports in France suggesting he has until the end of the week to arrange a transfer.
Anigo told the club's
official website: "The closer we get to the start of the season the less chance Djibril has of leaving.
Impossible
"He knows the period after which his exit will become impossible.
"He has been frank with us, we know he wants to go back to England even though there has been no concrete offer.
"We consider Djibril as someone who'll still be in Marseille for our season.
"If he stays it'll be very good for us. We wouldn't be able to replace him at such short notice."
The French outfit have signed forwards Bakari Kone and Hatem Ben Arfa in recent weeks.
But coach Eric Gerets has said, while he understands Cisse's personal problems, he wants to keep him at the club.
He said: "He has said a few times that he would like to return to England.
"I really don't want to mess up his private or his sporting life, but I'll fight to keep him here."
