Lille on the rise, PSG get back to winning ways; Grenoble go down
Marouane Chamakh was Bordeaux's hero as he struck to hand his side a late win at Lyon, while Lille moved up to third in Ligue 1 after handing out a thrashing to Monaco in the Principality and Paris Saint Germain got back to winning ways.
Morocco striker Chamakh headed home with four minutes left as champions
Bordeaux extended their lead at the summit to four points over Montpellier.
Bordeaux keeper Cedric Carrasso did not have much work until the 76th minute, when he parried away a sudden, powerful 30-yard drive by
Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons.
Both teams looked resigned to a dull draw when Chamakh surged at the far post to net the winner from a Yoann Gourcuff cross.
Tulio De Melo grabbed a brace of goals either side of half-time for
Lille before Yohan Cabaye added a 72nd-minute penalty and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang completed the rout five minutes from time.
In a lively match with plenty of chances, the first fell to
Monaco, but Alejandro Alonso fired wide after a good run from midfield.
Monaco were causing problems for Lille on the counter-attack and should have scored in the 25th minute when they had a three-on-one opportunity, but Chu Young Park chose to go alone, and Mickael Landreau saved with his feet.
That proved costly when Lille took the lead in the 38th minute.
Sebastian Puygrenier missed his chance to clear and Stephane Dumont pounced on the ball to find De Melo for a simple finish for Lille's opener.
More poor defending saw Dumont get a chance to shoot just wide moments before Lille got their second, with Cabaye's cross picking out De Melo to head home.
Yohan Mollo fired over in a rare second-half attack by Monaco, but there was no way back for them after Alonso brought down Gervinho in the area and Cabaye rifled home the penalty, despite a strong hand from the goalkeeper.
Substitute Aubamayeng then put the icing on the cake five minutes from time, firing home after a superb pass from Pierre-Alain Frau.
Paris St Germain bounced back from last week's defeat to Bordeaux with a comfortable home win over
St Etienne.
Pegguy Luyindula opened the scoring after 11 minutes and Stephane Sessegnon made it 2-0 just two minutes later.
Mevlut Erding effectively ended the game as a contest with a third goal for the home side five minutes before the interval.
Grenoble's recent improved form in Ligue 1 took a hit with a narrow loss at
Sochaux.
Having started the campaign with 11 successive defeats, the basement side arrived at the Stade Auguste Bonal unbeaten in their last four matches - a run which included their first victory of the season over Toulouse.
But a single goal from Yassine Mikari earned Sochaux the spoils, while Danijel Ljuboja also missed from the penalty spot for Grenoble.
Souleymane Camara's 10th-minute goal was enough to give high-flying
Montpellier all three points from their trip to
Toulouse and lift them up to second place in Ligue 1.
The hosts created a number of chances, but Montpellier were worthy winners for the ninth time this season.
The visitors were on the attack from the start, with Toulouse goalkeeper Matthieu Valverde - making his debut after signing as emergency cover - called on after just four minutes to keep out Alberto Costa's free-kick.
But he was picking the ball out of the back of the net in the 10th minute when Camara broke free on the left-hand side of the area and hit an unstoppable shot into the top left-hand corner.
