Former France midfielder hints at retirement from coaching

Bordeaux manager Jean Tigana has revealed that he may quit management when his current contract ends. The 55-year-old French coach has a deal with Les Girondins running until June 2012, and its completion could signify his retirement from the game. Tigana has been in management for 17 years and his former clubs include Lyon, Monaco, Fulham and Besiktas. "I think this could be my last club because I might take my footballing retirement early," he told Sud-Ouest. "As things stand, I'll go until the end of my contract. "We'll talk about it with (Bordeaux president) Jean-Louis (Triaud) at the end of the contract." Tigana, a member of France's 1984 European Championship-winning side, earned 52 caps for Les Bleus while also representing Toulon, Lyon, Bordeaux and Marseille as a player. He returned to management with Bordeaux in May, having spent three years out of the game after leaving Besiktas.
