Monaco coach fears for top-flight status

Monaco boss Laurent Banide admits he is growing increasingly alarmed at the club's lack of fight. The principality outfit slipped to another disappointing home defeat on Sunday, with Nancy leaving Stade Louis II with a 1-0 win. That setback leaves Monaco languishing inside the Ligue 1 drop zone with only 10 games of the season remaining. Banide is refusing to panic just yet, but he appreciates that performances need to improve dramatically if the club are to preserve their top flight status.

Dangerous

"The situation is very complex," he told L'Equipe. "We are not keen to fight. Why? It is difficult to say. "The situation is dangerous and it is not enough for us to play only 60 minutes in each match. "We are not dead at the moment, but we have to do much more if we are to survive."
