Italian to receive guidance from Petit amid club crisis
Former Italy international Marco Simone has been appointed the new joint-manager of Monaco alongside club legend Jean Petit.
Simone was on the books of the French outfit as a player on two separate occasions and returns to the Stade Louis II following the club's winless start to life in Ligue 2.
Languishing in 18th place in the early stages of France's second tier following a shock relegation last season, the club cut ties with Laurent Banide in a bid to stop the rot.
And they've turned to inexperienced Simone, who will work closely with 61-year-old Petit, who has already had three stints in charge of the club he spent the majority of his playing career with.
Former AC Milan striker Simone, who also turned out for Paris Saint Germain and Nice and retired from the game in 2006, will take on his first managerial position with the club.
