French club has contacted former England skipper over move
Former England captain David Beckham is not too old to play at the highest level, according to Paris Saint-Germain chief Leonardo.
Ambitious PSG, recently taken over by wealthy Qatari backers, want 36-year-old Beckham to spearhead their challenge for domestic and European honours.
PSG sporting director Leonardo admitted he has contacted Beckham, whose contract with Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy expires later this month, over a move.
The pair worked together during Beckham's second loan spell at AC Milan last year and the Brazilian has made no secret of wanting to lure the former Manchester United star to Parc des Princes.
And Leonardo is confident the Englishman's ageing legs can cope with the pace of Ligue 1.
He said: "I know him really well. If he couldn't play at this level, he wouldn't come."
