David Beckham has admitted that his family prevented him from joining French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain last month.
The former Manchester United star turned down an attractive offer to return to Europe and play under Carlo Ancelotti.
Instead, Beckham has since signed a new two-year contract with LA Galaxy which will expire when the midfielder reaches 38-years-old.
His initial five-year-deal came to an end at the conclusion of last season after he won the MLS Cup and the MLS title.
He has also spoken of his desire to represent Great Britain at the London Olympics this year.
Success
He told
La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I'm lucky, I've had success everywhere I've played.
"I won the MLS title this season so I have completed my experience with LA Galaxy.
"But my family preferred to stay in California, so it was the most logical solution, especially for the children. We're fine in Los Angeles."
AC Milan
Signing a new contract with La Galaxy has all-but-confirmed that he will see out his memorable career in the United States.
Beckham joined the Galaxy from Real Madrid in 2007, but returned to Europe for two loan spells with AC Milan.
He admits that he retains plenty of affection for the San Siro outfit and believes they will knock Arsenal out of the Champions League when the teams meet in the knockout stages.
He added: "I think about AC Milan every day, I had such a good time there. At Milan, it felt like I was at Manchester United. I miss Milan and I miss Italy.
"Milan can still win the Scudetto and I hope they do.
"In terms of the Champions League, I can't bring myself to support Arsenal, although I do respect the club.
"I am convinced that AC Milan will go through."
