L'OM quell transfer talk

Marseille have ruled out a move for three players at fellow Ligue 1 clubs.

Marseille have ruled out a move for Monaco striker Emmanuel Adebayor and Bordeaux duo Franck Jurietti and David Jemmali.

Following an opening day defeat to Bordeaux, l'OM have been tipped to raid the transfer market before the end of the month.

Monaco's unsettled front man Adebayor has been mooted as a target, along with Girondins pair Jurietti and Jemmali.

But Marseille chairman Pape Diouf admits the club cannot afford Adebayor while there is no interest in Bordeaux's defensive duo.

"Where could I get ‚é¼10 million to hire Adebayor?" commented Diouf in But!, with Adebayor having been strongly linked with West Ham.

"People often offer us some players and we reply we are thinking about it. It is a courteous way to reply.

"Some stated we are interested in Jemmali and Jurietti but it is not true.

"We were not in a classical big club transfer market. We had to rely on our own resources, use imagination and thought because we didn't have the financial means."

Meanwhile, reports claim Marseille are ready to offer a trial to Oxford United winger Chris Hackett.

L'OM watched Hackett in a friendly against Brighton last week and may invite him to Stade Velodrome for a trial before deciding if he merits a contract.
