Former Fulham boss quits for sake of family
Jean Tigana has resigned as Bordeaux coach after his 16-year-old daughter was harassed by the club's fans during their 4-0 loss at home to Sochaux.
Tigana replaced Laurent Blanc last summer but has been unable to revitalise the 2009 champions, who are 12 points short of the Champions League places.
Sochaux's four-goal blitz prompted the home supporters behind the visitors' goal to leave the stadium en masse shortly before half-time.
Tigana insisted he had no choice but to quit the club for the sake of his family.
"That was the last press conference that I will give you," said Tigana.
"It was a disastrous evening for the club and me. My daughter was harassed in the stands. She's already getting hassle at school, so I'm taking the decision to end my journey with Bordeaux."
Tigana added: "For me, that's not football. If the people in the stands think that the problem is Jean Tigana...
"There are enough problems like that in the world. I don't want to create more of them at Bordeaux."
