Loic Remy admits he has struggled to make an impact at Marseille, but is confident he will.
The France international was one of Europe's hottest properties when he moved to Stade Velodrome last summer.
A number of clubs, including many from the Premier League, were reported to be chasing his signature, making Marseille's deal quite a coup.
Remy is yet to justify their considerable outlay, though, with just a handful of goals managed so far this term.
His faltering form has seen him benched of late, with there only so long Didier Deschamps can keep faith with a misfiring frontman.
Remy accepts that he has done little to deserve a starting berth this season, but the 24-year-old is convinced he will rediscover his best and prove his worth.
Inconsistent
"It is my first season here, so it has not been easy," he told
L'Equipe.
"If I have to mark my first six months at Marseille, I would say I just get a pass.
"I have to find a place in the starting XI again now. Shouting and moaning would mean I am weak. That is not how I act.
"My main problem has been the inconsistency in my performances. At Marseille, it is essential you produce all the time.
"I also feel that I have missed aggressiveness at times. But that is not a problem. You can work on that, and I am working on it."
