Loic Remy faces a race against time to make Marseille's UEFA Champions League clash with Inter Milan after picking up a thigh injury.
The France international was forced off during a Coupe de France meeting with Bourg-Peronnas on Wednesday.
He was only able to make it to half-time in that contest, with it clear that he was in considerable discomfort.
Remy is now a major doubt for the first leg of Marseille's last-16 showdown with Inter.
He is due to undergo a series of medical tests on Thursday, but Didier Deschamps admits the outlook appears bleak.
"He felt muscular pain on the back of his thigh," said the Marseille coach.
"He will have medical examinations. We will see what happens, but it is a worry."
