Sadio Diallo will be turning out for Rennes next season, with the midfielder having completed a switch from Bastia.
He has agreed a four-year contract with his new employers.
The Guinea international helped Bastia to promotion in 2011/12, but will not be joining them on their top-flight adventure.
The 21-year-old is eager to prove that he was it takes to turn out for a top French club.
High level
He believes he can realise his ambitions at Rennes and is looking forward to linking up with a side which finished sixth in Ligue 1 last season.
"Rennes is a high level outfit," said Diallo. "I'm happy to be joining such a club.
"I could have tasted Ligue 1 with Bastia, but I think I can see higher with Rennes."
