French full-back staying put
Lille president Michel Seydoux has rubbished suggestions that Mathieu Debuchy could be set for a deadline day move to Real Madrid.
The France international, who was the subject of bids from Newcastle United and Inter Milan earlier this summer, has stated his desire to leave the club after impressing at Euro 2012.
But nobody met Lille's asking price and they have stood firm over their desire to keep him.
Recent days have seen Real strongly linked, but Seydoux has insisted that Debuchy will be staying with them to play in this season's Champions League.
"We have had no approach from them [Real Madrid], and anyway Mathieu really wants to play for us in the Champions League," Seydoux insisted.
