Monaco's Kylian Mbappe hopes his starring role against Manchester City will be "just the start of things".
The 18-year-old scored in both legs of the Champions League last-16 clash as Monaco progressed on away goals after a 6-6 aggregate draw.
City defender Bacary Sagna said he does not think it will be long before Mbappe is a regular for the France national team.
And, speaking after Monaco advanced into the quarter-finals, Mbappe said: "Look into my eyes; they're all lit up. This is truly incredible.
"I'm savouring this and I hope it's just the start of things.
"Clearly it is an achievement against a Manchester City team that is one of the best in Europe, with world-class players. But we were able to raise our level and match them.
"We really wanted to show them from the start that it was not their day, it was ours."
Mbappe has caught the eye this season after making 21 appearances and scoring 10 goals as Monaco have led the way in Ligue 1.
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev says the club intend to ward off any interest for the teenager, who has reportedly been scouted by Arsenal.
"Our intention is to keep Kylian Mbappe," Vasilyev told RTL. "Mbappe is a product of our youth academy. He is our DNA. I am very proud. We have a real team."
"The first half was excellent - the sort of performance that the very top teams make."
