Benjani scoops player gong
AUXERRE'S Benjamin Mwaruwari has been named as the French Player of the Month for September.
The Zimbabwean hot-shot has been a revelation this season as a deputy for French striker Djibril Cisse who has struggled with injury.
Cisse banged in 22 goals last season but seven goals in seven games from 'The Undertaker' has meant that Cisse has not been missed at Abbe-Deschamps.
Guy Roux will be delighted with the form shown by Benjani so far and is hoping to partner him with Cisse for their upcoming Champions League clash with Arsenal at Highbury.
Benjani was a former South African Player of the Year who failed to make an impression during his previous stint in Europe with Grasshoppers.
