Ligue 1 strugglers change managers

Le Mans have appointed Arnaud Cormier as manager until the end of the season after Paulo Duarte left by mutual consent. The club opted for a change at the helm with the team second from bottom of the Ligue 1 standings. Having won just two league games all season and Duarte to spend next month away from the club, they decided to act now. Duarte also works with Burkina Faso and was due to leave next month to help the team at the Africa Cup of Nations. "We couldn't, in our position, do without the presence and energy of the head coach of Le Mans for a whole month, even more so in January, a crucial month in the season," president Henri Legarda told the club's official website. Le Mans have made a swift appointment in hiring Cormier until the end of the season and he will be assisted by Laurent Peyrelade.
