Paris Saint-Germain tighten security for home game with Troyes

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed there will be extra security measures in place for Saturday’s game with Troyes in the wake of the terror attacks in the French capital.

Supporters have been asked to arrive early at the game in order for security checks to take place for the club's first home match since the events of November 13.

"At the request of and in conjunction with the Prefecture of Police, Paris Saint-Germain has implemented a heightened security programme for the club's upcoming matches at the Parc des Princes," said a statement on the club's official website.

"These security measures will be in place for the Ligue 1 match between Paris Saint-Germain and Troyes this coming Saturday 28 November at 5 pm and will be maintained until further notice.

"Supporters are asked to arrive early in order to make checks easier to carry out, and to provide better access to the stadium gates.

PSG coach Laurent Blanc says it is important that games go ahead this weekend but admits it will be difficult for the players to focus following the Paris

"The stadium gates will be open from 3 pm, i.e. two hours before kick-off, to enable all fans to get to their seats before the match starts.

"A form of identification will be required to get through the stadium checks. A map will be published in the next few days on PSG.FR, showing fans which route to take to get to the stand where they will be seated.

"You will not be allowed into the stadium with bags or helmets. Unlike other matches, there will be no left-luggage service available to the public.

"The security zone around the stadium will be increased and controlled by the police. This will have an impact on traffic around the Parc des Princes.

"Players will not enter the stadium via the red carpet.

PSG will wear shirts carrying the message 'Je Suis Paris' instead of the name of their usual kit sponsors for Wednesday's Champions League game with Malmo in Sweden and the home league game with Troyes at the weekend.
