New PSG chief to keep Ronaldinho

PARIS SAINT GERMAIN'S incoming chairman will have the full backing of the board in his attempts to keep Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho at the club for next season.

Francis Graille is set to replace Laurent Perpere before the end of the current season, and the new man at the helm wants to keep Ronaldinho.

The Samba star has had an uncomfortable time at Parc des Princes and has been linked with numerous moves away to Juventus, Internazionale and Manchester United.

Graille says that he is determined to keep Ronaldinho, but will know more about his future in the next few days.

"Personally I would like him to stay with us," said Graille. "But is it still possible?

"We will know that in the next few days."

Canal+ chairman Bertrand Meheut confirmed that Graille will given the full backing of the board to keep Ronaldinho.

Meheut explained that any enquiries they have had up to now are nowhere near what they value Ronaldinho, and in any case it is not in there financial or sporting interest to sell him.

"With Francis Graille we wish to give a great place to Ronaldinho," said Meheut. "Our desire is to keep him.

"Moreover even if there are offers today, they are not at a sufficient level considering his talent.

"On an economic level, it is not in our interest to sell him. And for the team it would be a great loss.

"Ronaldinho will be here next season."
